REcipe
I knew when we first started vinyl that I would want to do something rather intricate, and one of my favorite teams just so happened to have one However, this proved to be slightly too much for me. Some of it was a design flaw, in which case I feel that I made the design slightly too small. If I would've made the design slightly bigger, the problems encountered while weeding would've more than likely been avoided.
Anyways, this was the design I was trying to replicate. As you may see, it can be a rather intricate design. To simplify the design, I totally got rid of all of the white pieces, and instead just put a silver background in. After separating the various colors on the artboards, and sending them through the vinyl cutter, I moved on to weeding, and transferring. Which is where I messed up by losing a few pieces.
If you look closely, you'd be able to see that a few pieces that were needed to complete the orange segment were lost in the weeding/transferring process.
What i learned
When it comes to vinyl decals, I learned that it is always best to make the design big enough, so you don't lose pieces while weeding/transferring. I also learned that you shouldn't necessarily jump into an intricate design, as it could rip, or could be slightly misplaced after the transfer process.
